Two middle schools in Salinas have fencing clubs. Last year they asked Salle Santa Cruz to bring our electric gear for an electric fencing tourney. They did good and had a blast! This year they’ve invited our youth to join in on the fun! It’ll be a nice, no-pressure learning experience and a great way to earn your club patch =)
Although designed for Ocean Grove students, any youth may join! Class times are Monday/ Wednesday 1:30-3:00pm. Beginner class starts Jan 9th!
SSC attended a local epee tourney in San Jose On Aug 26th.
Grats to Kaelyn who took the Gold in Women’s Epee, and the Silver in mixed epee! Dave Mulligan was 3/1 in pools, was seeded 4th, and placed in the top 8. Jack Vevea competed strongly, giving as good as he got, all on a broken toe!
I was proud of all three students. They really gave ’em hell up there =)
Kindest thoughts always to our team-mate Luke and his lovely family.
Need new gear for you or your kiddo? I’ve written some recommendations at the link below!
